Silent protest
We had silent protests in front of the state library last Wednesday. It was a short notice and "wholla" there's almost 30-40 Malaysians who attended. It was a successful one. There was speeches by Malaysians and also by non Malaysians. There were a few which makes me feel touched and also more spirit-ful. A pair of husband and wife who came to Melbourne right after they have voted in Malaysia, they thought that this time the opposition party really could win and there will be changes as well, instead they called back and asked for the result, the wife broke down crying beside the street in Melbourne. Her husband felt helpless and he told his wife that they could do something like protest and they made it. In very short notice she created the event page and invited all the Malaysians in Melbourne to support the silent protest which I think it's really one of the way to let the Malaysians in Malaysia know that they are not alone. We're always with them. The photographers of the organisers took a few pictures of the situation there to share with the social websites. We had a few minutes moment of silence to pray for Malaysians who are attending Anwar's talk in Kelana Jaya. We, Malaysians in Melbourne get to protest in a safe environment but in Malaysia, it wouldn't be this way. So we decided to pray for them. Later on, a lot of people speak on how we should fight for our rights to vote and for a fair and transparent election! We need UBAH! There are friends from Hong Kong and Singaporean who supported us by joining us in the event and they said we are not alone! They will give support and we should stand together to fight the evil! How nice of them. We ended the protest by singing our national anthem song. In a way, we should thank Najib that because of him, we could see how truly 1Malaysia can be, we can see how united Malaysians can be! That's really important :) that's for now ^^
